Our links are few and selective but that is only because there are lots of great reenacting links. If a unit is listed here it has either participated or supported the trek, GTE, or else truly shines as a distinguished unit historically. Our other links have been reviewed carefully for historical content that reflect the spirit of our organization. Many of these links are also a recap of information from other areas of this website.   • British Brigade.
    The Indian Department often makes appearances at events sponsored by the British Brigade.
  • 62nd Regiment of Foot.
    This unit portrays the 62nd regiment, part of Burgoyne's Army from Canada during the Northern Campaign of 1777.
  • Adirondack Museum.
    A brilliant collection and important resource for Adirondack history.
  • 2nd New Hampshire Light Infantry.
    These guys are proof that rebels can actually fight. They gave us a good run at the 1997 GTE and are a magnificent portrayal of Continental Light Infantry.
  • Fort Stanwix.
    Close to our Adirondack base headquarters near Forestport, New York. This site has been superb with their support of Living History.
  • The American Colonist's Library
    A collection of links to online historical works which contributed to the formation of American politics, culture, and ideals. Geared towards the Rebels, but much is applicable to both Rebel and Loyalist personae.
  • Fort Ticonderoga.
    The Company of Select Marksmen played a key role in the taking of this fort in 1777.
  • RevWar '75 Resource Library
    An online collection of articles and original sources covering many aspects of the American War for Independence.
  • Butler's Rangers.
    McDonnell's Company was on the original trek in 1992. Many returned as Indian Department on the 1996 trek.
  • White Coats.
    A site rich with history dealing mainly with French Regulars in the Seven Years War.
  • Infantrie Regiment Von Donop.
    Although this organization portrays Germans attached to the southern department their appearence are not unlike those Germans who served with Burgoyne.
  • Fort George.
    Although an 1812 fort, it is located in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake Ontario, a place with significant Revolutionary history. This fort hosts the annual Northern Department School of Tactics.
  • Ontario Loyalist Resources.
    As mentioned, many Marksmen and Indian Department officers settled in Upper Canada after the war. This resource can help you track them down. Maybe you can find some of your own ancestors.
  • Fort La Presentation
    This French fort, constructed in 1749, was captured by the English in 1760 and renamed Fort Oswegatchie. Captain Alexander Fraser was appointed to take command in May 1779 after the end of the Burgoyne campaign.
  • Eighteenth-Century Resources
    A collection of "significant and reliable" internet resources, including information on literature, history, art, music, religion, economics, and philosophy. Includes web sites as well as electronic texts.
  • King's Arms Press.
    A purveyor of authentic 18th century period books and printed goods. Many journals and maps from the Burgoyne expedition are available from them.
  • Joseph Brant's Volunteers.
    This organization portrays a loyal White and Indian "war party" in the American Colonies during the Rebellion of 1775-1782.
  • Canadian Museum of Applied Military History.
    Although not official members, the Indian Department and Select Marksmen are members of this organization's Revolutionary "Northern Brigade" which showcases Living History units from the "Northern Department" theatre of the war.
  • Brigade of the American Revolution.
    The Indian Department and Company of Select Marksmen are proud members of this Living History master organization. They host the annual Grand Tactical Exercise (GTE).
